Energy in emerging markets
PA is committed to providing stable, dependable energy in emerging markets
Energy is critical to economic development, social equity and, in some cases, political stability. In many of the world's poorest countries less than 30 percent of the population has access to electricity. Globally, about 2 billion people live without access to modern forms of energy; of those, 1.7 billion live without access to electricity. Even where power is available, outages and poor reliability in many countries reduce GDP by 1-2 percent, exacerbating the struggle for growth.
The way to solve many of these problems is through improved governance. PA offers these services to enhance the energy sector in the world's poorest countries:
Energy sector reform
Energy commercialization and finance
Energy efficiency
Rural and renewable energy
