PA Consulting Group highlights key issues that must be addressed in commercialising combination products and convergence therapies
Stephen Blatcher from PA Consulting Group – the leading international management, systems and technology consultancy – will illustrate key challenges, both technical and commercial, that must be faced in commercialising combination products and convergence therapies, in a paper at MEDTEC, Galway, Ireland, on 20 September 2007 (201 Combination Products).
Stephen, a Consultant in PA’s Drug Delivery Group, will give the opening talk on Combination products and convergence therapies – realising the commercial potential. His paper will include
- the definition of convergence therapies - key challenges to commercialization - strategic partnering - lessons from the tissue engineering industry - delivering benefit/value.
The talk will be relevant to anyone with an interest in medical technology convergence and the move towards drug eluting and, ultimately, regenerative therapies.
The Combination Products programme also includes speakers from Boston Scientific, DePuy CMW and Biocompatibles UK describing how these types of therapies are being developed and used in cardiovascular, orthopaedic and oncology applications.
Angus Forster - another consultant in PA’s Drug Delivery Group – will also be giving a paper on Design challenges for drug/polymer foundations. He will share insight gained by PA from its successful track record in helping companies develop combination products and regenerative therapies.
Ian Rhodes, a Senior Partner in PA’s Drug Delivery Group, will chair the day.
