Work and leisure at PA
Your unique lifestyle needs
We understand that, outside work, there are a myriad things that excite, worry or attract you. In the UK, we offer a flexible package of health, finance and product initiatives that are tax-efficient to meet a number of these needs. This includes, for example, travel insurance, a home computer initiative and a variety of health-related insurance products.
Social clubs
A number of PA’s practices have social committees that organise regular events to support work and leisure time at PA, supporting development, networking and cohesion. These are particularly important to those working away from home for long periods in new and different towns and cities.
As an example, events organised by the Government Services Group in the UK have included a trip to the theatre to see Julius Caesar at London's Barbican, a day at the races at Epsom, a visit to Gateshead's International Jazz Festival, and an outing to the Turner, Whistler and Monet exhibitions at Tate Britain.
The social committees often include sporting activities in their portfolio of activities such as running sessions, badminton matches and cricket matches.
Child friendly activities are organised such as visits to Legoland, or summer barbecues for all the family - as well as less child friendly outings such as a visit to the Newcastle Beer Festival!
All the social groups are organised by volunteers from the staff so there is plenty of opportunity to get involved and contribute your own ideas to activities.
PA sailing regatta
|
The PA sailing regatta is a PA-wide biannual event, held in the spring and autumn. The regatta is open to all PA staff, families and friends and around 150 people descend on the Solent, Southampton, for a weekend of socializing and sailing. The event even attracts a contingent of German, Dutch and Norwegian colleagues. |

We charter a matched fleet of boats in the mid-30 foot range. Boat crews – or teams – come from both practices and assignments and the event is designed to be accessible to everyone, whatever their previous experience or skill level. To ensure we have fun, but in a competitive spirit, the regatta has time for familiarisation and both novice and formal races to ensure everyone can participate and gain experience.
The event has proved to be a great way to meet colleagues from across the firm, and to build the team spirit that is critical to the success of PA Consulting Group. |
