A survey carried out by PA Consulting Group in the UK has revealed that the Millennium Bomb problem is threatening public authorities, the private sector and other organisations and could have serious consequences for the economy in general.
In August 1996, the British Government created the Taskforce 2000 with the objective to increase awareness of the Millennium problem in both public and private sectors. The Netherlands government has established a similar group as a result of the PA Millennium Bomb survey carried out in Holland last May.
Awareness of the Millennium Bomb problem is low in the Czech Republic. Aiming to remedy this situation, PA has established contacts with the Czech Employers’ Federation, with the intention of assessing the situation and using the results of its findings to inform the Czech Government. We expect that the Czech survey results will be available October 1997.
