BT click&buy
The first true on-line micropayment solution in the UK
BT click&buy is a new service from BT that will enable content providers to charge modest amounts to access value-added Web content, letting users pay per view rather than committing to an annual subscription. The new venture enables BT to generate revenue from on-line services and complements its broadband service in delivering high quality content. With existing on-line payment systems unable to process small transactions economically or offer multiple payment options to consumers in one package, the marketplace was ready for an effective micropayment solution.
PA Consulting Group worked closely with BT to manage the integration of content providers’ Web sites with the BT click&buy application, enabling it to launch as planned in September 2002. As well as being an innovative new service, BT click&buy is expected to generate significant revenue for BT and forms an important part of BT's broadband strategy
