PA's IT work for BP, helping to reduce telecommunications costs by many tens of millions of dollars per year following its merger with Amoco (the largest in corporate history) was highly commended in the 'Best Use of IT' category. PA helped reduce BP's annual telecoms costs through a service rationalization program and innovative global outsourcing deal. PA was instrumental in helping BP place its core managed telecommunications services under the control of a single managing entity. The resulting $650 million, five-year outsourcing contract with MCI Worldcom covers management and provision of core voice, data and video conferencing services to BP, helping to substantially reduce telecommunications running costs.
