Schoeller Wavin Systems

Audit of pan-European locations and production

The German-Swiss Schoeller Plast Group and the Dutch firm Wavin Trepak B.V. merged in 1999 to form Schoeller Wavin Systems. This new world-leading manufacturer of containers for beverages and transport needed to ensure it had sufficient production capacity to meet customers' demands worldwide.

In close collaboration with the client, PA Consulting Group conducted a cross-location production audit to optimise manufacturing efficiency and capacity. PA also produced performance comparisons of each factory, compared to best practice.

Production processes were subsequently tailored to the audits’ results, which generated a significant increase in manufacturing efficiency, with production downtime reduced by more than 30%.
